Day 2 of Snow Day Homework for Class 2

Date: 2nd Mar 2018 @ 10:24am

Happy Second Snow Day, Everyone!

Hopefully, you are enjoying the snow still, even in the arctic winds - or staying warm and toasty inside like me!

Talking of arctic winds, I see that the news is reporting this extreme weather from Russia as 'The Beast from the East;, Storm Emma, The Siberian Bear and even Emmageddon (that's a pun, combining Emma and Armageddon which means the end of the world!)

Task 1: write a report for the Bosley Times, using one of the headlines I just mentioned, and report about the conditions and difficulties in Bosley, and elsewhere in the country if you have been following the news.

Remember to start with a good introduction to describe the situation, and end with a concluding sentence which hints about the future forecast.

Include an eye-witness statement - make up a character who got stuck in snowdrifts on a farm or on the main road, for example...

Present your article like a front page with headline, photograph and caption, and with wo columns of reporting article.

Task 2:  Hope onto and create your own quiz of the times tables you most need to practise. You can make up your own quiz here, and choose how many questions you want to answer. You can then answer it online, or print it out like we do in school.  Set yourself a time target!    Is there anyone else at home who you can challenge to a timed times table race?!

See you on Monday - hopefully!!
