Creative Arts Week workshop

Date: 19th Jul 2018 @ 8:56pm

During our creative arts week in July, the Year 6 children worked with artist Kate Motyer-Lowndes on three huge canvases to hang in our school hall.

They learnt how to colour-wash and make collage papers with mixed media and a range of techniques.

The background to all the canvases is a rainbow, which reminds us that God keeps his promises, like He did to Noah. Each banner shows love, joy and peace - the three core Christian values chosen earlier this year by the school pupils, to be at the heart of our school community.  They are also three of the 'fruits' of the Holy Spirit - living out our lives with God's power inside us and the example and teachings of Jesus to guide us.

They also reflect the song we like to sing: I've got peace like a river ... I've got love like an ocean ... I've got joy like a fountain ... in my soul.
